The doctor-patient relationship is the cornerstone of clinical care. For us to work in partnership with you, we believe it is essential that this relationship is based on mutual respect, openness, and good communication.

Our staff have the right to perform their duties without fear of abuse or violent acts. We ask that you treat your GP and all practice staff courteously—without violence, abuse, or harassment.

Unacceptable Behaviour

We will not tolerate any form of aggression or intimidation. This includes:

• Physical Violence: Any attempted or actual physical actions made towards any member of staff or other patients.
• Verbal Abuse: Swearing, shouting, or use of bad language.
• Threats: Any threatening behaviour, whether in person, over the telephone, or in written communication.
• Harassment: Racial abuse, sexual harassment, or persistent unrealistic demands that cause stress to staff.

Consequences

Any instance of violent or abusive behaviour will be treated with the utmost severity.

• Police Involvement: Any physical abuse or serious threats will be reported to An Garda Síochána.
• Removal from List: Offenders may be removed from the practice list. The HSE will be notified, and the patient will be required to register elsewhere.
